Leigh Academy - Squash sessions @ Blackheath Squash Club

You may have seen the new school development being built next door to Blackheath Squash Club. This is the Leigh Academy senior school. We are working with the school and Kent Squash to offer the school's pupils the opportunity to participate in after school squash coaching sessions.

We are kicking off next Monday 13th January 2020 with 16 pupils from Years 7 and 8. The session will be from 3.30pm to 5pm on both courts. and will run each Monday. They are being coached by a Level 2 Kent Squash coach and the sessions are funded by a National Lottery Awards for All grant and the equipment funded by Magic Little Grants.

Members please note that the courts will be unavailable between 3:30pm and 5:00pm on Mondays.

2025 Handicap Tournamament

Congratulations to Alex Booth who won the 2025 Handicap Tournament, and to Abhishek Jaywant for making it through to the finals. Alex was the second seed in the tournament and Abhishek the top seed with Alex having a -17 and Abhishek -18, so the games started at -1 to 0. Alex won a close first game 11/9 but Abhishek fought to win the second game 11/4. Alex went on to win the next two games and win the match by three games to one. Well done to Alex and Abhishek and to the fifty players that entered the tournament. A big thanks also to Alex for organising this tournament which was held for the first time since pre-covid times in 2019.
